I had this best time photographing this sweet family. Even though it was a hot, muggy summer day Leah and her family braved the forest humidity for their family photos. Their lovely little lady was just about to turn 2 years old and they wanted to capture this milestone as well as update their family photos.
We met at a beautiful location up in the Northern Chicagoland suburbs in Libertyville. The light shining through the tall tress reminded me of the times I spent forest bathing in the Pacific Northwest where I spend the end of my summers every year. There was also a beautiful little lake at the forest preserve along with several trails to explore the area. Since my style tends to leans towards more photojournalistic, I let the family play in the woods while I documented their smiles and interaction together.
What a perfect ending to a summer day!
